- 1 Timothy 3:1

- 2 Timothy 2:2

Name:

Monument Leadership Institute (MLI) is the trade name doing business under Grace Community Church of Fruita, CO (Monument View Bible Church, MVBC).

Goal:

To train men (Leaders In Training, LIT), here Colorado, USA; Ontario, Canada; and abroad in Kenya and Uganda, Africa; to be godly servant-minded leaders with a comprehensive theological knowledge.

Leaders:

MVBC Senior Pastor, Dr. Mark Fisher along with the MLI board has the general oversight of the MLI program. Pastor Rick Mikesh has oversight of the MLI program in Beardmore, Ontario Canada; Pastor Peter Lukoye along with his local MLI board has oversight of the MLI program in Eldoret and Kaimosi, Kenya; and Pastor Fred Musungu along with his local MLI board has oversight of the MLI program in Lira, Uganda. Each local leader and board members are approved church leaders in their local church communities.

Biblical Training:

Ten Bible courses over a span 3 years equating to approximately 30 credit hours, equaling that of a college level leadership certification program. Each Bible course would be taught with an emphasis on leadership, and may have varying learning formats giving the LIT a general background in biblical hermeneutics. The local leaders do have the freedom to emphasize or add various truths of the scriptures that are pertinent to their church situation. Each class will end with an open book/discussion style test or something similar which will aide in the solidification of the class study.

For the MVBC LIT, class time would be held on select evenings. Classes for the most part will be discussion based; relating to the completed preparation work for each class. The preparation work will usually include lectures with some form of study materials or study guide relating to the lecture. All lectures and study materials will be posted on the website. The LIT will be required to attend at least 80% of the class meetings for each course. Attendance will be taken by the leader or facilitator and documented.

Those LIT studying abroad will be required to complete the same required work of the MVBC LIT under the direction of their local leader. Class times will be determined by each local leader or facilitator.

Academic and Hands-on Training:

The LIT is required to complete a sensible amount of academic work, but the greater portion of responsibility is their involvement in ministries in which they feel called, upon the approval and under the supervision of the ministry leaders.

Website:

Students have access to the MLI website where they can access audio and video lessons, documents, study materials, pastor blogs and a discussion board. The purpose is to make the learning process simple and accessible for the LIT.

Graduation:

Those LIT who have faithfully completed all requirements of the MLI program would be eligible for graduation upon approval and recommendation of their local leader and board along with the MVBC board. Approximately every 3 years, whether at MVBC or abroad a ceremony would be held in honor of those approved. It may be that at the same time, if deemed appropriate by the leaders, an ordination service would be held for qualified leaders.

Commitment:

Both the MLI leaders and LIT are required to read and sign their correlating MLI agreements.

"If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. "
- John 13: 14-17
